Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care is an ancient model of emotional and spiritual support that can be found in all cultures and traditions. It has been described in our modern context as individual and corporate patience in which trained pastoral care givers support people in their pain, loss and anxiety, and their triumphs, joys and victories. BMX-DC support the Community Church of Washington DC in their efforts to build within the black SGL community.

Pastoral Care Services Include:

  • Spiritual support to all patients, their families in a hospital.
  • Responding to crises and referrals in a timely manner.
  • Special rituals and services including: communion, anointing, funerals and memorial services.
  • Bereavement support.
  • Participation in discharge planning and other interdisciplinary meetings.
