Sustance Abuse

Substance abuse services is administered by the DC Department of Health Addiction Prevention and Recovery Administration (APRA). The Addiction Prevention and Recovery Administration (“APRA”) promotes access to substance abuse prevention, treatment and recovery support services.

Residents in need of substance abuse treatment can access services at the:

After the ARC conducts a complete assessment, the client may choose a
treatment provider from a list of 30 treatment program of the Drug Treatment
Choice Program (DTCP). Typically, a client will begin treatment within one day.
There is no waiting list for treatment in the District of Columbia.
